What methods do you use for employee training follow-up and evaluation?
Before LMS, the trainings we would give to our employees had to be done completely face-to-face. A date was set for the training and an announcement was made by e-mail. On that day, we could only take the employees whose operations were available to the training hall. For those who could not receive this training, the training had to be repeated. But no matter how many times it was repeated, it was not possible to reach all our employees. Now, in our process with LMS, as soon as the employee starts working, trainings are defined to their own user without wasting time and the employee can access their trainings whenever they want. Our ultimate goal is to create and develop the system with conscious employees by transferring our trainings by accessing all our employees, not the employees we can catch.
What are the advantages you provide in training processes with LMS?
LMS has provided us with great advantages in terms of time, training location and accessibility to employees.
How did the use of LMS affect the learning and work adaptation process of employees?
For example; when one of our employees started work, sometimes due to operational reasons, sometimes due to the inability to find a training hall, sometimes due to the incompatibility of the shift on the day the training was planned, or because we had a training plan in other hotels, 2 weeks could pass until we came to our Orientation training. But with LMS, the user can open and learn the training prepared for the hotel on the day he / she starts working, only from an application where he / she enters his / her user information. This greatly supports the employee to adapt to us more quickly and gain a sense of belonging.
How do you foresee the role of LMS in your sector in the future?
I foresee that LMS will be indispensable for the tourism sector in the future. Not only tourism but the whole world is now digitalised. Generation Z constitutes a large part of our colleagues we work with and it will increase even more in the future. The whole world of this generation is in the device in their hands. In order to appeal to them, we need to be able to integrate new technologies into our system. We need to be in that world in their hands. Training is one of our sine qua non for them to develop and adopt the corporate culture. But it would not be wise to try to do this completely with old methods. For this reason, we have shaped, changed and developed according to the digital children of the digital world. We took care to speak the same language.
Can you tell us the success story?
Yes, our Coordinator Mr. Hakan Saatçioğlu, Limak Technology Team and myself wrote a success story. The name of the story is Simurg Portal.
This story has come to this time by first drafts, trial and error, saying "let's check if it is done", "yes, this is done, then we can get more efficiency if we add this", "let's work on it then", "let's try it again and again" and many other things.
Our ancestors never spoke in vain. We set out from what our ancestors said for this situation. What they said; "Migration improves on the road." We have brought Simurg Portal to this day by constantly working, constantly experimenting, brainstorming, believing and not giving up.
If you add meaning and value to everything you do in your life, you can endure and endure whatever may come to you in return. I would like to thank my Coordinator Mr. Hakan Saatçioğlu, who trusted and supported me in this story. I would like to thank Mr. Hakan Saatçioğlu, and the Limak Technology team that produces quick solutions to all our requests. We have achieved this beautiful work together.
